The Iberian books of chivalry form a rich literary corpus of medieval inspiration that emerged in Spain at the end of the Middle Ages and that, thanks to the combined efforts of translators, printers and publishers, became available to early modern customers and readers in at least nine languages and across most of Europe, from Portugal to Scandinavia, from London to Constantinople.

This volume discusses the translation and publication processes that account for this cultural phenomenon. It moreover offers an up-to-date overview of the bibliographical record of the languages and national traditions in which Iberian romances of chivalry circulated in the sixteenth and the seventeenth centuries.
